Are you thinking about commercialising your research, or interested in investigating new uses for it? Then i-Teams can help!
i-Teams brings together teams of post-graduates from across the university to work on new university inventions, and mentors them to conduct primary market research by locating relevant industry experts and gathering their feedback. Teams are selected to be as diverse as possible, representing different courses (PhDs, postdocs and masters) and different departments.
We run three courses over the three university terms:
- Innovation i-Teams – every term, looking at the best real-world applications for all types of new inventions
- Development i-Teams – Michaelmas & Easter, looking at taking new technologies into the developing world
- Medical i-Teams – Lent, looking at how to take medical innovations into the clinic
Examples of past projects are available on our website.
If you have an invention or new technology to propose, or any questions about i-Teams, please use our contact form and provide as much background information as possible. We accept projects from any researchers (staff, postdocs and PhDs) working or studying in the University of Cambridge, Addenbrookes Hospital, Babraham Institute and the Sanger Centre, as well as from early-stage organisations being supported by any of the University incubators or the CGE cultivator. We have a rolling application process so projects are accepted and considered at any time during the year.
