Rich Morales is a PhD student in the Centre for Strategy and Performance at Cambridge University where he studies strategy, innovation, and management systems in firms focused on public sector product-service delivery. He is on the faculty of the Department of Systems Engineering at the US Military Academy. Most recently, Rich commanded a 800-solider task force responsible for security, development and governance efforts across one third of the city of Baghdad.
He previously led strategic planning efforts at a multinational aerospace firm, served on the White House Staff, was Special Assistant to the chief of NASA, and was part of a small team formed to create the new Department of Homeland Security where he later served as deputy for US border security. Rich studied aeropace engineering, business, and systems dynamics and organizational learning at West Point, Yale and MIT.
