Stew McTavish works to support start-up innovations in the East of England as Director of IdeaSpace, part of the University of Cambridge. Supported by the University and EEDA, IdeaSpace is the region’s newest Enterprise Hub. Stew has first-hand experience of social networking as a business – mo.jo, the company he founded to enable people to create on-line ollaborative communities on the fly led to Open Venture Challenge, a highly-successful network supporting the charity Cancer Research UK. His interest in entrepreneurship – he was successively chairman and president of Cambridge University Entrepreneurs – is now being channelled into designing an on-line community around the IdeaSpace that will enrich the support it provides to entrepreneurs and new companies.
