However insecticides can interfere with metabolic processes in agriculture, which means that using pesticide schedules to boost crop yields can actually lead to more insect infestations. It is critical to create an autonomous and accurate pest identification system so that this situation can be improved.
The inventor has developed a new system called ESP-EYE which is designed to detect the presence of fruit flies, alert customers that fruit flies are present, and trap the flies in a mechanical trap to allow them to be studied further.
