“Our team was like a small company, working together towards a common goal.”

Interested in how new medical technologies are commercialised and made available to patients and clinicians? Looking for some hands-on skills and experience? Want to work in a team with post-graduates from other departments and colleges? Then read on!

Projects for this course:

By joining an i-Team, you will:

  • Work for a term with a multi-disciplinary team of postgraduates from across the University and a dedicated industry mentor
  • Receive weekly training from industry experts
  • Investigate the commercial potential and user requirements of a real Cambridge invention
  • Gain hands-on skills and experience in a real-world technology consulting-type project.

Applications are welcomed from postgraduates and researchers from any discipline. No previous commercial or medical background required.

The programme includes weekly group sessions, team meetings and individual work. The full syllabus is available here. Past i-Teams estimate that their projects needed about 4 hours a week of individual effort in addition to the weekly sessions. As part of the projects, team members will need to contact external industry experts by phone and email – some calls and meetings may need to take place during office hours.
